Traveling in Singapore is tricky. The whole country is only 721.5 sq km and the most attractions are within the main city and side by island only. Yet, I am sure you will exhaust all your time, energy and money covering this small country. It’s full of attractions.
And so is Sentosa.
Sentosa is an island covering only 5 sq km of area, yet it is total number of attractions so high that it takes at least 3 days to cover them all. But you don’t need to see it all. I will list the most mesmerizing places to visit.
Cable car
It is your unique opportunity to have a “drone” view of the area. The cable car journey from Bay front station to Sentosa above the sea, ships and island attractions is one of its kind.
Universal Studios
I did not go there. Reason is simple: I did not have time in my two and half day tour to Singapore. However, if you like to experience best rides in your life, it is a must visit. Keep one full day aside for this place.
S.E.A. Aquarium
Oh my God! What an aquarium. I could not believe my childhood favorites screensavers have come to life. Definitely a wonder what man can do. Sharks, corals, fishes, crabs, jellies, lobsters, stars, sea dragons, sea elephants… I didn’t know marine life is so rich.
Madame Tussauds Museum
If you have been to other countries around the world, you may have visited Madame Tussauds somewhere else too. But I am sure the arts in Singapore Madame Tussauds is the most lively. At the start of the museum, there is a 3 minutes boat ride called Spirits of Singapore, which itself deserve a standing ovation.
Sentosa monorail
Once you are inside the island, you can access the monorail free of charges. Only if you go to Sentosa from HarbourFront through Sentosa Express, you will need to purchase a ticket. I enjoyed the ride for free. It’s a totally futuristic ride and you will feel in the year 3000.
Sentosa Merlion
It is the biggest Merlion statue in Singapore. You may choose to purchase tickets to go to its top, or you can enjoy taking iconic Singapore photographs in front of it for free. Also, you will find the big S E N T O S A letterings in front of the Merlion which is a must photoshoot spot.
Palawan beach
During the afternoon, you will not regret visiting the Palawan beach at the southen side of the island. clean beach, full of activities for kids are a sure place to relax after the hustle bustle day. If your feet permit, cross the narrow creek to the Southern most point of continental Asia.
Wings of Time
Did I mention about Garden Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay? While it emphasizes on the music, Wings of Time is another must visit light and sound show, and I am sure, you haven’t experience such a wonderful combination of laser, water, fire, sound and fireworks before. The whole show is not only a music, but also a 30 minutes short film which will take you through historical events on the wings of a giant phoenix.
