Maldives!
A country possibly on every traveler’s bucket list. And yes, ours too. We dreamt of this holiday for a long long time, and guess what, as soon as the borders started opening after two years long lock-down, we could not miss the chance. As usual, we did our thorough research on where to stay, looked for the flight tickets, and here we are.

To see the sea
Almost all the island resorts offers multiple mode of transport. For the islands close to Male, people prefer taking speed boat. For islands far away, speed boat is not a feasible choice. They either provide sea plane transport, or domestic flights. We had only one choice which was per fect for us. The gorgeous sea plane.
Garden villa, Beach villa or Water villa
While it comes to accommodation, all the island resorts offers some choices: garden villa, beach villa, or water villa. The garden villas are those that are towards the center of the island, and does not have direct beach access. These are usually the most affortable choice if someone agrees to walk a few minutes to go to the beach.
Then comes the beach villas. These are the beach side rooms giving direct access to the beach
And finally water villas. They are not on the beach, but on the ocean itself. These are usually the most expensive choice.
We chose a mixed accommodation option. A few days in the beach villa, followed by water villa. And guess what, it came with a private pool.
Want to see our beach pool villa? Here it is
The villa is equipped with everything someone can think of, a big king size bed, tables, chairs, iron with iron board, an outdoor shower with bath, coffee machine, mini bar, a safe, and of course, the beautiful outdoor pool.
If that mesmerizes you, here is how the ocean pool villa looked like.
With almost all the facilities of the beach pool villa, the ocean pool villa was a dream home.
Beach please!
I know, I know, we are taking too much time to take you to the beach. So here is some snaps, without spending much word. The clean white beach was totally word all the effort, planning and spending.
Let’s go into the ocean
Which the island and the beach are totally enough to spend a holiday, we did not miss the chance to take a boat and enjoy the sunset in the ocean. We also received some complimentary snacks and beverage.
What about exploring the island?
Most of the islands of Maldives are not too big. It can be easily explored on foot. Out island had a buggy service to go to any part of the island. Moreover, we took a bicycle to add some romantic flavor to the trip.
Can we see some marine life?
Of course. All the islands offer many watersports activities and option for snorkelling or diving. We took a quick look into the corals and fishes.
What else?
There are many activities to do in Maldives, but it is a good choice to keep some time for relaxing. After all, what holidays are for? There are gym, spa, remote island tour, beach dinnerand what not. Here is a picture of shark feeding. Can you spot two sharks?
Heard of a breakfast they searve on the pool?
Right! We heard about it and we could not help but ordering one floating breakfast basket. There are lot of options to choose from, and we selected Americal brekkie. It had bread, jam, eggs, bacon, pancakes, muesli, pastry, fruit skewers, juices, tea, coconut. We would totally miss it if we had not ordered it.
Some tips
Weather int he tropical region can be unpredictable. It may rain almost any day. However, rains are usually heavy but short-termed. We also had a rainy morning which quickly turned into a sunny late morning.
Our host was amazing. They provided us anything that we asked for, and sometimes even not asked for. But they did not accept any tips. All they wanted is a good review for them. So we wrote as much as possible and mentioned their name from the website where we booked our stay and it made them extremely happy.
The ecology in the tropical islands are very fragile. There are many precious marine life around the island. Be careful what you bring there and make sure nothing is left on the beach except footsteps.
